Core Values
Instruction in the classroom must always point to God’s sovereignty and the Bible as our ultimate authority. We believe all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy, and it serves as the foundation for learning. PCA seeks to lead children to a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, helping them to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
PCA is committed to providing students with a strong academic foundation by teaching essential skills and establishing the building blocks necessary for lifelong learning. Students are challenged to develop their intellectual abilities, think critically and deeply, and pursue academic excellence through diligence and hard work (2 Tim. 2:15). Recognizing that each student is uniquely created and has individual learning needs, PCA provides appropriate support and adapts instructional approaches when necessary to help each student thrive.
PCA provides a variety of challenging, engaging academic and co-curricular opportunities that encourage students to explore, discover, and develop their unique gifts, talents, and abilities. Students are encouraged to use these gifts purposefully as they seek to understand and pursue God’s plan for their lives.
Students are also guided in developing healthy interpersonal skills and building relationships that reflect and honor God. PCA emphasizes the value and dignity of every individual, encouraging students to treat one another with respect and recognize each person as uniquely created in the image of God.
PCA is committed to nurturing the hearts of students through the truth, power, and grace of the Gospel. We believe that the heart is the wellspring of life and that our passions, desires, attitudes, and choices influence the direction of our lives. Because outward behavior reflects what is within the heart, lasting transformation begins with the work of God’s grace. PCA seeks to guide students toward genuine heart change through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Because everything we have ultimately belongs to God, PCA is committed to faithfully and responsibly managing the financial, physical, and human resources entrusted to us. We seek to honor God through wise, purposeful, and accountable stewardship in every area of the school.
PCA is committed to cultivating a safe, positive, and supportive environment where students feel valued, encouraged, and cared for. We believe that a nurturing environment helps foster a genuine love of learning and creates the foundation for students to grow academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. Because teaching is ultimately relational, PCA places a high priority on building meaningful and supportive relationships with students and families.
PCA recognizes parents and school personnel as valued partners in the shared responsibility of Christian education. Student success is strengthened when families and educators work together through mutual respect, open communication, active involvement, and a shared commitment to each student’s growth and development.
PCA staff members maintain the professional credentials, knowledge, and training necessary to fulfill their responsibilities effectively. At the same time, they are expected to model the humility and servant-leadership demonstrated in Scripture in their interactions with students, families, colleagues, and the broader school community. Sound judgment, professionalism, competence, and a commitment to continuous growth are expected at every level of the organization.
PCA is committed to being intentional in both what we do and how we do it. We strive to make wise and purposeful decisions while pursuing excellence in every area of our school community. Our goal is to honor God by consistently doing the right things and carrying them out with diligence, care, and excellence.
Statement of Faith
- We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, serving as the foundation and ultimate source of truth for faith and life. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21)
- We believe in one God who eternally exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; John 10:30, 37–38)
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, including His virgin birth, sinless life, miraculous works, sacrificial and atoning death through His shed blood, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and personal return in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 7:25; John 2:11; Hebrews 9:12; Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; John 11:25; Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11–16)
- We believe that all people are sinful by nature and that salvation requires regeneration through the Holy Spirit. We believe this transformation is essential and necessary for a person to receive salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:19 & 23; John 3:16–10; John 5:24; Ephesians 2:8–10; Titus 3:5–6)
- We believe in the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose presence and indwelling empower believers to live lives that honor and reflect God. (Ephesians 5:18; Ephesians 4:30; I Corinthians 3:16; I Corinthians 6:19–20)
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, with those who have been saved receiving eternal life and those who remain lost facing eternal damnation. (John 5:28–29)
- We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers through our Lord Jesus Christ, recognizing that those who belong to Christ are united as one body through the work of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12–13; Galatians 3:26–28)
- We believe that humanity was created directly by God, intentionally made according to His design and purpose. (Genesis 1:26–28; Genesis 5:1–2)
